Tutorial 3 · Customization

Use Custom Mouth Shapes

Replace the default mouth set with artwork that matches your character while keeping the same 15 mouth positions used by the lip-sync system.

What You'll Learn

  • Prepare transparent PNG mouth artwork.
  • Replace individual default mouth shapes.
  • Keep the set consistently sized and aligned.
  • Preview the custom set on your character.

Before You Start

2D Lip Sync Studio uses 15 mouth positions. Your custom artwork should map to the same positions shown in the Mouth Palette.

Step by Step

  1. Prepare the PNG files

Create transparent PNG mouth images for the mouth positions you want to replace.

  2. Choose a mouth position

In the Mouth Palette, select the default mouth position you want to replace.

  3. Import the replacement

Load the matching custom PNG for that mouth position.

  4. Repeat for the set

Replace the remaining mouths you want to customize. You can replace all 15 or only the ones you need.

  5. Check alignment

Preview several mouth changes and make sure the artwork does not visibly jump between shapes.

  6. Save the project

Save the .lipsync project so the custom mouth set is restored when you reopen it.

Tip: Use the same canvas size and mouth position in every PNG. Consistent alignment produces much smoother playback.
