Tutorial 4 · Preview

Set Up the Character Preview

Use the Preview area to see the generated mouth animation directly on your character while you work.

What You'll Learn

  • Import a character reference image.
  • Move and scale the character in the Preview.
  • Position the mouth artwork on the face.
  • Check the lip sync in context while the dialogue plays.

Before You Start

The character image is used as a visual reference while editing. The mouth artwork remains the animation element you export.

Step by Step

  1. Import the character image

Use the Face controls in the Preview area to load your character reference image.

  2. Position the character

Move the character until the face is centered where you want it in the Preview.

  3. Scale the character

Adjust the face size so the Preview resembles the framing you expect in your animation.

  4. Position the mouth

Move the mouth artwork over the correct position on the character face.

  5. Adjust the mouth size

Scale the mouth until it fits the character while keeping the original imported mouth artwork unchanged for export.

  6. Play the dialogue

Watch the lip sync on the character and use the timeline whenever you need to make timing changes.

Tip: Use a neutral character reference image with the mouth area clearly visible. It makes alignment much easier.
