Your First Lip Sync Project
Follow the complete workflow from a voice recording to editable, frame-by-frame mouth animation and a finished export.
What You'll Learn
- Import dialogue audio and enter a matching transcript.
- Generate the initial lip sync.
- Review the result in the Preview and frame timeline.
- Save the project and export the finished lip sync.
Before You Start
For the easiest first project, use one clear speaker and a short dialogue clip. Have the transcript ready exactly as it is spoken.
Step by Step
- Start a project
Open 2D Lip Sync Studio and begin a new project, or open an existing .lipsync project file.
- Import your audio
Load the dialogue recording you want the character to speak. WAV, MP3, and M4A files are supported.
- Add the transcript
Type or paste the dialogue exactly as it is spoken in the recording.
- Choose the frame rate
Set the FPS to match the animation project where you plan to use the lip sync.
- Sync the dialogue
Click Sync Audio and wait for the program to align the dialogue and generate the initial mouth animation.
- Review the result
Play the dialogue while watching the Preview. Use the waveform and frame-by-frame mouth timeline to inspect the sync.
- Make an edit if needed
Select the exact frame or frame range you want to change, choose the replacement mouth shape, and click Edit.
- Save and export
Save the project as a .lipsync file and export the format you need for your animation workflow.
